It is a programmable thermostat ( chronothermostat ) battery-operated Wi-Fi that can be placed wherever you want. Wi-Fi allows control via smartphone and relies on a Wi-Fi gateway, while communication with the boiler takes place wirelessly via radio, which makes hygge portable.
Where should the radio receiver be positioned?
We get straight to the thorniest of questions. The wireless radio receiver is the most scary, but it is actually very simple. It can be positioned wherever there are boiler consent cables and 230V power supply. Since hygge is portable, the wireless receiver should be imagined as a substitute for the thermostat in its role as the boiler's "switch".
So can I install the receiver instead of the thermostat?
Yes, if the 230V power cables are also present. The receiver has a size equal to that of a 503 flush-mounting box, however the holes do not coincide, therefore a small amount of work will be necessary to arrange it on the wall. If your thermostat is wall mounted without a 503 box, replacement is much quicker, just drill new holes.
Can the installation be carried out independently or do I need a specialized technician?
The connections to be made are shown in the manual and in the quick guide. The installation can therefore be carried out independently and depends on your confidence.
Where should the Wi-Fi gateway be placed?
Wherever you want, the important thing is that there is a power socket.
Should the gateway be connected to the router with an Ethernet cable or via Wi-Fi?
Communication with the router is via Wi-Fi, also for this reason the gateway can be positioned wherever you prefer, the important thing is that it is the Wi-Fi signal.
And if the Wi-Fi signal went out, would hygge still work?
Yes, the thermostat would continue according to the time program defined before the internet connection was lost. If the programming via the app is changed in the meantime, this will be transmitted to hygge as soon as the signal comes back on.
Is the base only for aesthetic purposes or does it also serve as a battery charger?
Hygge can stand up even without a base, but the latter increases its stability. It does not function as a battery charger, because otherwise it would have had to be powered and this would have compromised its portability and aesthetics.
How does the pairing between the various devices take place?
Pairing is guided and occurs automatically.
I would like to get more than one hygge to manage different areas of the house, how does it work?
First of all, it is obviously necessary for the system to be divided into zones. After that you can assign each hygge to its area of relevance. The wireless receiver connected to the boiler manages the zones based on the signals transmitted by the various thermostats. The programming defined through the app for each thermostat is transmitted to them via the Wi-Fi gateway.
